In this episode, I want to tackle the phenomenon of contemporary cities that are often global and smart. Or rather more global and smarter than the countries they are located in.

Wellington Webb, former Mayor of Denver, has once said that the 19th century was a century of empires. The 20th century was a century of nation states. And the 21st century will be a century of cities. Indeed, the role of urban areas cannot be overestimated in 2018.

Let’s have a closer look at them!
